About Your Coach
Meet Kristin Lantz
Hi, I'm Kristin — a certified coach based in Auckland, New Zealand — and I'm genuinely glad you're here.
My mission is simple: helping people develop, grow, and become their best selves. That calling took shape over many years of coaching and mentoring colleagues across the federal government.
A little about my background:
- 23+ years of leadership across multiple U.S. government agencies
- Graduate of the Federal Internal Coach Training Program
- Working towards my ACC credential with the International Coaching Federation
- Executive MBA student at Massey University in New Zealand
- Served as Acting Director, Office of Business Services, at the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration, supervising divisions spanning acquisitions support, quality management, and travel, space, and logistics
- Built policies and standard operating procedures from the ground up as a Supervisory Administrative Officer at the U.S. Department of Labor, supporting more than 60 employees and 10 overseas labor attachés
- Excellence in Government Fellow (Fall 2015) and EIG co-coach (Spring 2022) with the Partnership for Public Service
Off the clock, I travel with my family, garden, hike, coach soccer, and volunteer in my Auckland community.
Why "Fantail"?
In New Zealand, the fantail — pīwakawaka — is a small, fearless bird famous for flitting alongside travellers on the trail: constantly adjusting, always in motion, endlessly curious.
What draws me to it is its nerve. It's one of the smallest birds in the bush, and it will still come right up to you. I think about that often in coaching — how much courage it takes to stay small and curious in a room full of people who'd rather look certain.
That's the spirit of this practice: a coach who moves with you, helps you stay nimble through change, and keeps you pointed towards the best version of yourself.
Ready when you are.
There's no pressure and no perfect moment — just a friendly conversation about where you are and where you'd like to go. Choose a time that suits you.
